Full exploitation of all the material properties of existing polymers is possible,
because SupraPolix’ innovation SupraB
® adds the following distinctive features
to polymeric materials:
- external stimuli like heat or dilution trigger the polymers to behave like a fluid that
is easy to process by manufacturer or consumer
- in absence of stimuli, the polymers regain their high quality material properties
- switching is fast and operative in an adequate operating window, implying short processing
times and reduced energy consumption
- changes in properties are reversible, resulting in materials with short assembly/disassembly
times and possibility to repositioning (‘self-healing’)
- environmentally benign, reversibility allows recycling of used materials thereby dramatically
reducing the waste
- structural simplicity and comprehensive chemistry of SupraB® allows readily incorporation in
a wide variety of existing plastics
- process and material-properties can be fine-tuned to obtain tailor-made polymers
As a consequence, production can be significantly cheaper and faster, whereas the
consumer will benefit from innovated products that are easier to use. Moreover, our
technology is environmentally benign, because energy consumption during processing
is strongly reduced, materials are easier recyclable, and reactive formulations used
by consumers are possible without reactive (toxic) chemicals complying with the environmental
constraints of the near future. All without any concession to the quality of the materials.

SupraPolix is continuously expanding her portfolio of supramolecular materials modified
with SupraB
® by in-house research and collaborations with industrial partners. Currently,
SupraPolix has a manifold of linking strategies at her disposition to implement SupraB
® in
industrial relevant polymers, resulting in a comprehensive library of supramolecular polymeric
materials based on different industrial polymers, having a range of polymeric architectures and
chemistries. Consequently, SupraPolix’ technology platform is able to serve a huge market because
the diversity of our approaches guarantees the applicability in many different existing polymeric products.
industry collaborations
Product-applications containing SupraPolix proprietary materials are being developed in collaboration
with our industrial clients. SupraPolix offers direct access to her proprietary supramolecular
technology and the know-how to implement this technology in the polymeric materials of interest.
Outsourcing to SupraPolix BV results in a reduction in your R&D-expenses and gives you the means
to grow your R&D efforts in a flexible way, ensuring the continued generation of innovative products.
